Wait so I realized I need a life update in this damn thing

-I've been going to classes at CCAC North Side branch campus. This is fun because I get to ride the bus. First summer semester is over already, I had Intro to Philosophy with a tiny, excitable black man that wore shorty shorts and spoke with an accent and was impossibly foreign but really nice and he used to be a professor at Allegheny. Now for second summer semester I have Logic with a large ponderous white man who speaks in a monotone and has a creeper-stache wears sweaty foodstained polo shirts and says awkward things about anal probing in class. Also Human Development and Psychology with a half-Korean woman who is very smart and very pretty and has good fashion sense but is boring as hell and so far the class has basically been "HOW IS BABBY FORMED?" mixed with Biology 101 so I dunno about this.

-These classes are 4 hours a day, 4 days a week.

-I am also working anywhere between 35 and 40 hours at the Taco Hell FFFUCCCK

-And it is soul-sucking

-I met a /b/tard on the bus; he felt the need to talk to me because I accidentally said "weeaboo" when I was on my phone. That'll teach me to talk on my mobile while using public transportation. We take the 16D together everyday so I see him all the time FUCKKKK

-HOT DAMN it is Scifi Movie Summer so I've been getting lots of sweet movies on my TV too bad I don't have time to watch them

-Because I am too busy watching Law and Order. And Law and Order: SVU. And Law and Order: CI. Because they are ALWAYS ON.

-I bought The Dispossessed by Ursula LeGuin because I was tired of clueless or just plain misogynist (I'm looking at you, Heinlein) viewpoints on women when it comes to good SF. I wasn't disappointed; it was the best book I've read in awhile.

-I just glanced over at my bookshelf and my sister has invaded it with her Travelling Pants and sob-story Jodi Piccoult books once again.

-Upon closer inspection one of the Jodi Piccoult books appears to follow the plot of that Harrison Ford Witness movie almost exactly.

-Today I got up at 9 in the morning to bake cupcakes for my manager since it's his birthday I took them to work with me damn he best be appreciating those bitches because they were the moistest things ever

-All I ate today was a Crunchwrap and I don't even care la la laaaaa

-My stomach does though it's making angry noises at me

-I would cook dinner but I'm lazy and I don't even care to eat things unless they're doused with Fire sauce anymore, anyway. And that Fire sauce better have some damn wisdom worthy of Confucius on it or I want no part in that shit.

-Okay whatever I'm going to go creepily lurk Facebook now.

Whacked six inches off my hair.

It's jawbone length and reminds me of Trixie from the cartoon Speed Racer (not the liveaction version). It looks cute curly, but even cuter when I leave it to run its natural wave. I haven't tried straightening it yet.

It lends itself well to sparkly bobby pins.

Saw The Hulk with [info]traumsprache and my sister's classmate Cara.

:D :D :D :D

Grinning times a million. Such a good movie. Though I did angst about the fact that Betty and Bruce didn't end up together at the end while I was brushing my teeth this morning.

Oh man, also. Edward Norton speaking Portuguese is hot.

Sooo the Hulk movie came out last night and I've yet to see it, but I'm squealing in excitement every time I see a promo. Edward Norton yay! Also from what I can see it's got Liv Tyler in black framed glasses. I just think she's so gorgeous, especially as Arwen in Lord of the Rings, and also in Armegeddon when she was younger.

Anyway I really must see it immediately. I work tonight and all day tomorrow and Sunday, but Monday after class might be a good time if Anne/Bobby is up for it.

Hey ya'll I just want to talk to you about this thing for a minute, because I promised I would:

Uncle Monsterface, the nerdcore artist has just released his album "This is an Adventure!"

For a quick review of his music, he is letting you download the album for free. I've already downloaded, which is why I'm doing this review. If you are reading this before June 8th, you can download it for free too, with a review.

And let me say, I suggest you do, because this album is awesome! There's even a tribute to Gary Gygax, the recently deceased inventor of D&D, on there.

My favorite is "Robot Quest!", though. I own way too many songs about robots.

For people to whom this is important, his sound is somewhere between rock and hair metal and has guitar solos that would be right at home in guitar hero.

Ever since I started slashing like it was my second job, I found that Rule 34 really does exist. Stuff I NEVER thought would have fic written about it, does.

For instance, with the Pens in the Stanley Cup playoffs and all, I got to thinking. After a quick search, yes it does exist. Penguins slash? Well, do you want Crosby/Malkin or Fleury/Roberts? In the locker room or on the ice?

Or Gattaca. I didn't think anyone had heard of that movie, much less ship the (admittedly, practically canonical) Eugene/Jerome(Vincent) with the intensity that I do. But I found a few!

Or Martin Keamy, from Lost. Man, would I like some slash involving him, but he's only a bit character. Thankfully, there's Keamy/Gault, and it's so good I'm reccing it. The first bit, the second, and the third. Wowee.

Oh speaking of Lost, holy shit the finale!!!! But that needs its own post, later.

So, while I'm a big fan of Z over at Hipster, Please!, I am embarrassed to say that I've never listened to one of his podcasts until tonight. And, well, he's just got the cutest little Southern accent.

So.

Wednesday was my last day as a sophomore at Allegheny. I've since come home. Next week I plan to start summer classes at CCAC to get a few credits ahead of the game, and I'm going back to work at the Taco Hell.

But right now none of this is significant because I have a problem and it is called I just saw Dark Knight promo pics. And. Fucking A. I don't even like him but Heath Ledger as the Joker oh my God. Such a hot hot villian. And rolled up sleeves. Oh, the rolled up sleevy goodness.

Tralalalala, finals time!

I have quite a lot of studying and work to do, and my astrophysics test is tomorrow.

However I am watching the "Brother" music video right now. I guess I just had to check and make sure Adam Turla's still attractive. And he is, ridiculously so.

The end.
26th-Apr-2008 10:46 pm - What D&D character are you?
I Am A: Lawful Good Elf Paladin/Cleric (1st/1st Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-14

Dexterity-14

Constitution-12

Intelligence-16

Wisdom-13

Charisma-12

Alignment:
Lawful Good A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. He combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished. Lawful good is the best alignment you can be because it combines honor and compassion. However, lawful good can be a dangerous alignment because it restricts freedom and criminalizes self-interest.

Race:
Elves are known for their poetry, song, and magical arts, but when danger threatens they show great skill with weapons and strategy. Elves can live to be over 700 years old and, by human standards, are slow to make friends and enemies, and even slower to forget them. Elves are slim and stand 4.5 to 5.5 feet tall. They have no facial or body hair, prefer comfortable clothes, and possess unearthly grace. Many others races find them hauntingly beautiful.

Primary Class:
Paladins take their adventures seriously, and even a mundane mission is, in the heart of the paladin, a personal test an opportunity to demonstrate bravery, to learn tactics, and to find ways to do good. Divine power protects these warriors of virtue, warding off harm, protecting from disease, healing, and guarding against fear. The paladin can also direct this power to help others, healing wounds or curing diseases, and also use it to destroy evil. Experienced paladins can smite evil foes and turn away undead. A paladin's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast. Many of the paladin's special abilities also benefit from a high Charisma score.

Secondary Class:
Clerics act as intermediaries between the earthly and the divine (or infernal) worlds. A good cleric helps those in need, while an evil cleric seeks to spread his patron's vision of evil across the world. All clerics can heal wounds and bring people back from the brink of death, and powerful clerics can even raise the dead. Likewise, all clerics have authority over undead creatures, and they can turn away or even destroy these creatures. Clerics are trained in the use of simple weapons, and can use all forms of armor and shields without penalty, since armor does not interfere with the casting of divine spells. In addition to his normal complement of spells, every cleric chooses to focus on two of his deity's domains. These domains grants the cleric special powers, and give him access to spells that he might otherwise never learn. A cleric's Wisdom score should be high, since this determines the maximum spell level that he can cast.
